It was during this early stage that Barbara and Francis were prominent on the shop floor where they helped, intermittently when the demand arose to produce copper coils and aluminium anodes.  Manco took on employees steadily in reaction to the market demands and workload increase. In the first two years the workload had increased so much that they had employed 10-12 people to meet the rising demands.  At this relatively early stage orders were coming in on a weekly basis to produce up to 50 special commercial and up to 450 domestic cylinders to be distributed to a nation-wide customer base.
